In this episode, we take the first step into learning more about the Roman Empire. We had to split this episode into 2 parts as there is more information to keep it to just one. We take a look at what the changes were between the Republic and the Empire, and try to see what everyday life was like. We then take a little bit of pop culture and see where things might have been not quite as faithful as we might have thought.Caligula (1979)The Life of Brian (1979)A Funny Thing Happened On the Way To The Forum (1966)The Arena (1974) History of the World: Part 1 (1981)Horrible Histories: The Movie- Rotten Romans (2019)All fiction for ancient Rome from the Kingdom through the Empire https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fiction_set_in_ancient_RomeAge of Empires (1997)Civilization 6 (2016)The Forgotten City (2021)Spartan: Total Warrior (2005)Colosseum: Road to Freedom (2005)Gladiator Begins (2010)Age of Decadence (2015)Shadow of Rome (2005)Ryse: Son of Rome (2013)Doctor Who      "The Romans" Season 2 Serial 4 (1965)     "The Fires of Pompeii" Series 4 Episode 2 (2008)     "The Pandorica Opens" Series 5 Episode 12 (2010)     "The Big Bang" Series 5 Episode 13 (2010)     "The Eaters of Light" Series 10 Episode 10 (2017)Star Trek     The Original Series "Bread and Circuses" Season 2 Episode 14 (1968)                                                 "Requiem for Methuselah" Season 3 Episode 21 (1969)     The Next Generation "Best of Both Worlds" Season 3 Episode 26 (1990)                                                      "The Chase" Season 6 Episode 20 (1993)     Deep Space 9 "Improbable Cause" Season 3 Episode 20 (1995)The Simpsons "I, Carumbus" Season 32 Episode 2 (2020)Email: diggingdeeperwiththeancients@gmail.comInstagram: @diggingdeeperwiththeancientsFacebook: @diggingdeeperwithtehancientsTwitter: @diggingdeeppodMusic by Audionautix.com
